The Coronation Cup has now reached the semi-final stage and the competition will be played to a finish on Saturday 8th August, 2.00pm start. Spectators will be welcome, up to a maximum number of 30 (including players and organisers) within the confines of the bowling club.

ROSE BOWL

Entries are now being taken for the Club’s next competition, which will be the Rose Bowl. This will be a singles handicap and places are limited to 30 to comply with the current BCGBA / HM Government guidelines. It will be held on Sunday 16th August, 12.00 noon start. Entry is by pre-booking and so far 22 entries have been received and these are listed below. CLUB COMPETITIONS – AUGUST 2020

Following the increase in numbers allowed at the green, we now feel able to run some club competitions on a one-day basis. To comply with the current BCGBA & HM Government guidance, the number of participants will be strictly limited to 30. Entry will be by pre-booking, no entries will be taken on the day. As the guidance may change again in the next few weeks, we have set dates for competitions until the end of August and the dates set are :-

Sunday 16^th August – ROSE BOWL (singles handicap)

ALL COMPETITIONS WILL START AT 12.00 pm PROMPT.

PLEASE NOTE :-

WHILE THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE, WE WILL NOT BE RUNNING PLATES AT CLUB COMPETITIONS, THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT THE NUMBER OF GAMES ON THE GREEN DOES NOT EXCEED THE NUMBER STATED IN OUR RISK ASSESSMENT.

NON-PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED AT THE GREEN IF THEY DO NOT TAKE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE BOWLING CLUB CONFINES OVER THE PERMITTED NUMBER OF 30. ALL NON-PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS MUST REGISTER THEIR ATTENDANCE IN THE FOLDER PROVIDED FOR TRACK AND TRACE PURPOSES.

ANYONE BOOKING A PLACE IN A COMPETITION MUST NOTIFY THE COMPETITION ORGANISER IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, TO ALLOW A SUBSTITUTE TO BE CONTACTED.  FAILURE TO ATTEND WITHOUT NOTIFICATION COULD LEAD TO A PLAYER BEING DEBARRED FROM FUTURE COMPETITIONS.

A MEMBER NOT GAINING ENTRY TO A COMPETITION BECAUSE THE LIMIT OF 30 HAS BEEN REACHED WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY FOR THE NEXT EVENT.  

HM Government Covid-19 guidelines on social distancing and strict hygiene measures must be observed at all times

League bowling opportunity.

The Maghull league are proposing to run a mini league in August and September.

The teams will consists of 6 people, male or female. 4 playing per match.

The cost will be £5.00 per person to cover the league entry fee.

The league games will be home and away played on a Monday and Tuesday evening.

You will be playing on both days in order that  the league can be completed,

There will be some travelling involved, Ormskirk, Maghull, Bootle, Crosby.

Lifts are always available and I would think we would only need 2 cars to travel in.

The leagues will consist of 7 teams and will be graded by the organisers into divisions.

We are looking to enter a minimum of 3 teams or 4 if we have enough interest.

Jacks and Mats will be sanitised after each game. A maximum of 30 people within the confines of the green.

The price will be £1.50 per person with £1 going to the club to help fund the additional expenses incurred in running this event.

The Round Robin is for Members only, should you wish to pay subs it can be done on the day.

• Each round of the competition to completed within seven days.
• It will be responsibility of the first named player to contact their opponent to arrange a mutually convenient time to play the match and to book a time slot using the online booking system.
• No practice is allowed before the game. Any use of the green on the day of and prior to the game should only be done with the knowledge and consent of your opponent.
• Games to be played using own jack(s) and mat(s).
• Games up to the semi-finals to be scored by the players themselves (no markers). All games to be 21 up playing off the handicaps as indicated on the sheet displayed at the green.
• Players should agree to a procedure to determine the counting bowl when a measure would normally be used. For example, an independent judge could be asked to decide. If no neutral person is present and an agreement cannot be reached, the end should be replayed.

• Failure to fulfil a fixture before the deadline set could result in both players being scratched from the competition. The decision of the competition organisers will be final.
• All social distancing and hygiene advice relating to Covid-19 to be adhered to at all times.

Just a reminder that the deadline for entries to the Coronation Cup is Friday 10th July. So far, we have received 21 entries. Alternatively, names can be put on the sheet  displayed at the green.

Once the draw has been made at the weekend, we intend to text/phone players with the name and contact details of their opponent. The full draw will be emailed and posted on the website asap after that.
