FROM THE ARCHIVE 4 – 2010

Following the success of the Chairman’s Shield, a second random pairs was introduced in 2010, the Spring Pairs, and the first winners were Cliff Jennings and Pat McArthur.

In the previous two seasons, the four singles competitions had attracted pleasing turnouts but in 2010 entries topped 100 in total for the first time, an average of 25 players for each event.

Keeping in Touch from the archive 3 (2009)

FROM THE ARCHIVE 3 – 2009

This time we are taking a look back at our club competitions held in 2009. For the second year running we were able to stage four singles handicaps and a random pairs, the Chairman’s Shield. It was the second playing of the doubles and it attracted a bumper turnout of 44 players (22 pairs), which still stands as a record entry for a Hesketh Arms club competition to this day.
