Congratulations to Andy Draper on winning the Coronation Cup, winning the final 21-12 against Alan Lloyd.

The losing semi-finalists were Mike Stevens and Terry Corfield. 

The Plate was won by Mal Green, with a 21-11 win against Darren Vincent.

All these competitions will start at 12 noon and further details will be posted nearer the time.

CORONATION CUP

Members are reminded that the next club competition will be held this coming Sunday 21st June, when we will be playing for the CORONATION CUP. This will be a singles handicap, with a plate competition for players losing in their first game.

To enter, please register at the green on the day by 11.45 am, for a 12 noon start.

CHURCHTOWN CONSERVATIVE CLUB

– B.J.P. O’MALLEY PRESIDENT’S TROPHY

Congratulations to one of our members, Des Marum, on winning the Conservative Club’s President’s Trophy, partnering Ellie McNeill. The runners-up were Jamie Barton and Alex Rimmer.

CLUB COMPETITIONS

BLOWICK CUP – CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

Due to the lack of player availability and a clash with the LV League President’s Day, the Blowick Cup, which was scheduled to take place this coming Sunday, has been postponed. We will try to arrange a new date for this competition towards the end of the season. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The next club competition will be held on Sunday 21st June, when we will be playing for the CORONATION CUP. This will be a singles handicap, with a plate competition for players losing in their first game.

SOUTHPORT FEDERATION

Southport defeated Fylde by 17 points to 15 in their recent National League fixture.

In the home leg, played at Scarisbrick NSC, the team had six winners and won the aggregate by 42 chalks. Among the winners was Fergal Wright, who had an excellent 21-6 win. Away from home, Southport had five winners at St. Annes, narrowly losing by 18, to ensure they won the four points for the overall aggregate. Darren Edgerley was one of the five winners, winning his match 21-20.

Southport are now placed 3rd in Division 6, just 7 points behind leaders Flintshire with two games to play. Their next opponents will be Doncaster in the July round of fixtures.

GREEN BOOKINGS

Saturday 13th June – Churchtown Conservative Club B.J.P.O’Malley President’s Trophy – this competition is open to members of the Churchtown Conservative Club.

Sunday 19th July – Finals Day of L.V. Individuals competition – spectators welcome.
