ROSE BOWL
Congratulations to Derek Wignall on winning the Rose Bowl, the club’s first singles competition of the season. Derek had a narrow escape in his second match, just overcoming Colin Edge 21-20, before reaching the final with a 21-11 win against Andy Draper in the semi-final. His opponent in the final was Darren Edgerley, who had come through a close semi-final against Steve McManus. Darren started well in the final, scoring 2s at the first couple of ends but Derek had played consistently well all afternoon and eventually ran out a 21-15 winner.
A Plate competition was held, and this was won by Mal Green, with a 15-8 win against Alan Lloyd in the final.
