ROSE BOWL

Congratulations to Jim Halsall on winning the Rose Bowl singles handicap, overcoming Peter Smith 21-17 in a closely fought final. Peter had held the advantage as he led 14-10 but Jim was able to count 4 twos in six ends at a crucial stage of the game to lead 16-15 and although Peter drew level at 17 across, Jim was able to score the four chalks required to take the title.  

WINNER :- JIM HALSALL

This was Jim’s fifth singles win at the Hesketh Arms and seventh competition win in total, equalling Margaret Langley’s club record.

CHAIRMAN’S SHIELD

The next club competition will be the Chairman’s Shield, which will take place next Saturday, 22nd August, starting at 12 noon. Please report to the green by 11.45 am to allow for a prompt start.

PRESIDENT’S CUP

Entries are now being taken for the President’s Cup. This is a singles handicap and will be held on Sunday 30th August, 12 noon start. There will again be a limit of 30 players on a first come, first served basis.
