Presidents Day

The Club enjoyed a successful President’s Day on Sunday when 32 members competed for the President’s Cup. In addition, there were a good number of helpers and spectators to help make it a really good day.

The main competition was won by Kevin Leddy who overcame Andy Draper 21-12 in the final. Congratulations to both players on excellent performances throughout the competition. Well done also to the losing semi-finalists, Kez Adams and Dave White.

The President’s Day Plate was appropriately won by the President himself, Peter Smith, with a 15-8 win in the final against Jason Chapman. Losing plate semi-finalists were Debbie Barnes and Sue Wignall.

A raffle was held and the proceeds from this and the sale of refreshments came to £189.50. Many thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to making Peter’s first President’s such a success.

There is an unclaimed raffle prize GREEN TICKET NUMBER 944

If you are the holder please contact Peter or Myself

I’d like to say a big thank you to everybody who turned up to support the club’s President’s Day. Also, to everyone who took the trouble to make and purchase cakes, donate raffle prizes, and all the ladies who helped by selling cakes and raffle tickets, teas & coffees.
A big thank you to Mike for running the competition so smoothly and everyone who helped out with marking and measuring.

The next club competition will be this coming Sunday, 17th July when we will be playing for the Championship Cup. This competition is for men only and is played off scratch, with no plate. There will be a maximum of four games on the green at any time. Please register by 11.45am in time for a prompt 12 noon start.

Message from B Coleman

In about a week’s time we will be making the draw for the LV individuals competition.

At present we have 35 entries. I have looked at last year’s entries and quite a few who played then are not entered.

As the season is over ( except for 5 home & 5 away on later dates) I would have thought everyone would be wanting to play.

However it is your personal decision.

All entries are on the MB home page. If your name isn’t there you are not in it.
