LEAGUE SUCCESS

As the various local leagues come to the end of the regular season, it is pleasing to report that three of our teams have won their respective championships.

In the Burscough League, the Vultures won the 1st Division Championship, finishing 19 points clear of last year’s champions, Banks St. Stephen’s.

In the 2nd Division, the Ospreys made it a double for the Club by also finishing as champions. Well done to captains Chris Harding and Mark Rowlinson and all the players in both teams.

There was more success for the Club in the Southport Parks League, with the Kites winning the 1st Division by a single point from runners-up Scarisbrick Bowling Club. The team is pictured below celebrating in the Conservative Club following a 6-4 win against the Falkland Road side in a last day decider.

CHURCHTOWN CONSERVATIVE CLUB – B.J.P.O’MALLEY PRESIDENT’S TROPHY

Congratulations to Chris Harding and Heather Menzies, who won the Conservative Club’s B.J.P.O’Malley President’s Trophy with an 11-6 win in the final against Noel Morgans and Paul Vincent.

SOUTHPORT FEDERATION

The Southport Federation team play their final league match of the season on Sunday 21st August, when they take on Cheshire Parks. The home leg is being held at Tarleton Bowling Club, starting at 2.00pm and spectators will be welcome for a match which could see the team promoted for the second successive year.
