LV LEAGUE SINGLES COMPETITION

Congratulations to Mark Wilde on reaching the final of the LV League Singles competition, losing in the final to Danny Harding at Scarisbrick Bowling Club.

SOUTHPORT FEDERATION

The Southport Federation team played Harrogate in their latest fixture and claimed an 18 points to 14 win. The home leg was played at the Hesketh Arms and Southport continued their impressive record at the Hesketh, winning 8 of the 12 games and gaining a convincing 73 chalk aggregate advantage. This was enough to win the four points for the overall aggregate as the away team lost by just 48 at Bilton WMC, winning four of the twelve games.

Of the Hesketh Arms’ players, there were excellent wins for Fergal Wright (21-11) and Darren Edgerley (21-12) at home, whilst Andy Draper won 21-18 away.

The win against Harrogate puts Southport into 3rd place in the division with just one game to play, against Cheshire Parks later this month, when a convincing win could see the team promoted for the successive season.
